Charlotte MacDonald – Nicholas Grandmother was born in Edinburgh and the Scottish records are not so easy to access as the British ones. The earliest I have been able to trace her family is back to Alexander McDonald – Nicholas Great, Great, Great Grandfather. Someone on Ancestry has him as being born in 1794 to George McDonald and his wife Margaret Ross but I have not found actual records of such.
